I know the voices in your head because I was once you—and these voices don’t ever go away completely, they just get a bit quieter and easier to manage with time. You need to be able to see that the value of what you can provide for someone is massive.
For example, a conception coach works with newlyweds who are struggling to conceive. Her grandmother and mother both had breast cancer; and she herself isn’t able to go on hormones. With time, she discovered a unique way of helping women track their cycle and ovulation so they can conceive naturally. She once asked: “These couples are newly married, just starting out, barely making ends meet…how could I possibly charge to help them!?”
People will spend 3 months of their salary on an engagement ring and that’s perfectly acceptable. A RING! But asking someone to invest $5k or $10k to be able to have a baby - NO WAY! Do you see how we’ve just trained our brains wrong?
Today, this coach has found a certain segment of couples, her ideal clients, who realize it’s not HOW do we have a baby but WHO can help us!? And they know that she is their WHO—no persuading, convincing or slimy business necessary.

Let me boil it down. If you want to have a successful coaching business, all you need to do is have conversations with potential clients and enroll them, that’s it. Nothing else matters. You don’t need a website, a blog, a podcast, to be on social media, write a book…it’s not that those things are bad, they’re not just not necessary. The only thing you have to do is generate conversations with people who can say YES or NO. And anything else you could possibly focus on strategically is a waste of time (I wish someone had been that honest with me when I was starting)!
In a way, that’s good news because it makes your journey between you and success a lot shorter but it can be scary news because it means all the things you were planning on doing to keep yourself in your comfort zone…well, now you don’t have to do those things! In fact, you only have to do FOUR things with intention—which is why our clients love our framework and gain so much time - and energy - back.
People are often scared at the thought of telling their story, being successful, staying stuck, not knowing how to truly get out of scarcity… and most people when they say they’re scared, they’re just embarrassed to be seen starting small by their peers.
So I always like to ask: What is worth failing for? Because fear and failure are always going to be there—that’s learning. Don’t fear failure. Always be testing testing testing. Keep trying and you will find your groove only if mentally you say what’s actually worth failing for. Maybe it’s worth it for the impact you want to have? The legacy you want to leave behind? The abundance for your family? To help even ONE person not go through what you've gone through? The ability to pay your rent or mortgage? To buy organic groceries without guilt? To send your kids to the best schools? To retire your partner who has supported you every step of the way? That’s worth failing for. It’s worth being seen starting small to make a positive impact and to grow wealth for your family or future family. It’s worth failing because you know that others are trapped and suffering too, yet you’re breaking through.
Also, know that the fear doesn’t go away. I often struggle with feeling awkward, introverted and not confident enough and I realize that anytime I get stuck feeling that way, it’s because I’m thinking too much about me. When I shift out of me into serving others—my focus, energy and action changes. The fear never goes away, we just get better at managing it.
1) Trying to get everything done but not knowing HOW to do it is exhausting and overwhelming for many people. But it’s not HOW do I grow my coaching/consulting business? It's WHO has already done this? Who has already built the business that I want? Answering this is going to take away your overwhelm.
2) When people get overwhelmed, sometimes it’s because they’re trying to understand everything before they get started (this used to be me). As an example, someone will come into the course and watch all of the modules first and then say “Ok, I’m going to start!” because in their mind they want to understand it first. Our most successful clients will click play and when there’s an exercise or assignment click pause and go and do that thing first. If they get stuck, they’ll send an email to the team to get unstuck and move forward, but they don't press play again until that thing was done. Sometimes it will take them a week or two to get that thing done but they don't keep watching until that thing is completed and then they move on to the next thing.
3) Some people are overwhelmed because of time management which means I don’t set boundaries well. I say yes to everybody else and I’m honestly distracted. The average American watches 4 hours of TV per night. The average American also spends 1 hour on Facebook or Instagram. Doing the math… 1 hour a day on social scrolling = 30 hours/month. That amounts to 12 weeks = 3 months of lost purpose work / creative time each year! People will say "I don’t have time" ...you might discover you could have 3 months of more time. Some people say “Well, Steph I don’t scroll for an hour each day…” Maybe your thing is indecision. Netflix. Or maybe you didn’t have a plan for the day so you meander too much. Everyone has way more time to do the things they claim they want to do than they think they do. When you get that realization you prioritize for purpose and all of a sudden things start happen.
When looking at your calendar, ask: Does this move me toward the woman I want to become or does it not? Keep in mind: there are things you used to do that were perfect for the person you were then, but not perfect for the person you’re becoming.
There's ROI and there's COI—both are important.
For me, the ROI on coaching is priceless. This year alone, my coaching investments include $20,000 to be mentored by a world-class expert on feminine intuition; and I just spent 6 days having my thinking challenged by a coach to Presidents, billionaires and Olympic athletes. The difference between a coaching investment and a financial investment is that you can get value from your coaching if YOU show up powerfully.
COI = Cost of Inaction. What is the cost of inaction? Of staying where you’re at? If you keep doing what you are doing now, will you be significantly wealthier in 5 years? Happier? Fulfilled? So often we think what it costs to do something...but what will it cost NOT to do this? What is the potential cost of your client not investing with you? You have all the opportunity to get the full return on investment x10.
If you want to be a world-class coach, you have to invest in yourself at a world-class level.
No, it will likely double if not triple by 2023. For now, I wanted to make it a no-brainer for people who are committed. What I'm teaching and giving you took 7+ years of trial and error, failures and lessons, $50,000 of debt investing in my business and what lights me up is knowing I can provide it to you for a small fraction of that.
Screw that! Switch your brain. It’s going to work because you’re going to make it work!
