True or False: The products going on your face and body are as important as the food going in? True.

click to watch the video and discover the (dirty) truths that may impact you and your family.

Throughout my career in the beauty industry, I had the privilege of trying boat loads (suitcases full) - of products.

Until I became a Certified Holistic Health Coach in 2015, I wasn't aware of the hidden toxins and chemicals in our food and products. As a Health Coach, I knew the importance of checking food labels for harmful ingredients. One day, I started getting curious about just what was in the skincare and cosmetics I was lathering on my face and body everyday and started to make changes.

In 2017, I discovered Beautycounter. As the leading, safer skincare and cosmetics brand for women and families in the U.S, I felt as if everything I had secretly longed for (safer, high-performing, yummy/superfood/plant-based ingredients in-one) had arrived. Not only were the skincare products miracle workers on my skin, (after just 1 week I felt 5 years younger - true story), but the makeup, body, hair and suncare collections were equally as irresistible.

Before switching to clean beauty, I was a chronic dry lip sufferer (lipstick addict). These Lip Sheers  ($32) offer the loveliest of nudes to the most vibrant bolds, and are scented with vanilla and without fragrance which is often drying/irritating.

2 FREE RESOURCES to start using now

Beautycounter is a company committed to transparency and takes no shortcuts when it comes to rigorous testing and safety measures.

1. The brand's NeverList is made up of more than 1,500 questionable or harmful ingredients that will never be used in any of the products. Ever. I'll encourage you, as I do my loved ones, to use this list as a resource to understand how your existing personal care, skincare and cosmetic products fair. The alarming reality is, many of these ingredients are widely used in common household names; and these ingredients have been linked to cancers, auto-immune disorders, infertility, allergies, asthma, skin irritation and more.

2. Another go-to resource I use often and recommend to my clients to check product safety is EWG's Skin Deep Cosmetics Database. This database ranks more than 70,000 products for safety and Beautycounter ranks as one of the best. Simply enter a specific brand or product name to find out how it measures in overall hazard and health concerns.
