There are days where you feel on top of the world. And then there are days where you’re filled with anxiety thinking about the money that is going out faster than it’s coming in.

You wonder if you should work for an actual coaching company vs. your own for a while. Get a part-time job. Cut every expense possible as you scan your credit card statement.

I’ve had every iteration of those thoughts, along with a history of being “bad” with money.

Even as I’ve transformed both, and have grown a company to multiple six-figures after a decade-long high-earning career—I’m still human, and have very human moments where I can still cozy back up to the scarcity thinking of my past if I’m not careful.

In those moments, here’s one of my processes for shifting back into abundance, and fast.

With a pen and paper I make a list of the following:

-The amount I have in my checking account(s): $xx

-The amount I have in my savings account(s): $xx

-The amount I have in my investment accounts: $xx

-The amount I have in my retirement accounts: $xx

-The amount I have available in credit lines: $xx

-The # of people in my world that I could potentially create as clients now if I choose:

-The # of opportunities I have available to me now that could be monetized:

-The # of referral partners in my network that I haven’t tapped into:

-The # of colleagues and mentors who can support me in creating even more abundance:

-The ideas I haven’t yet monetized:

If I were a homeowner:

-This is the value of my home(s): $xx

If I were in need of help / support from loved ones:

-These are the friends and family members who I could reach out for help if I absolutely needed:

If I had lent others money:

-These are the people who owe me money and this is how much:

If I had old belongings to sell:

-These are the belongings I could sell which could add up to this much:

…

Add all of that up (plus anything and everything else true for you not included here) and allow yourself to be surprised and delighted by the number.

Write that number on a post-it, make it your screen saver, meditate on it daily. It will help you relax and create even more where that came from. And if the number doesn’t inspire you, make up one that does and practice living into it.

Clients who have done this exercise are usually amazed when the actual reality of their situation is clear.

In most cases, you are wildly abundant; more abundant than you know. Now you know. :) And it’s time to turn that abundance into even more abundance.

And I should mention that this process never ever includes sales calls, having to pressure people, or believing that you have to ‘prove yourself’ in any way to enroll people you’d love to work with. After all, all of those things are commonly rooted in scarcity—the very thing we’re gracefully evolving out of ;)
