I used to earn a substantial amount of money in my career. I had money in the bank and no time outside of work.

In the years since becoming a business coach, entrepreneur and designing my own schedule around the lifestyle I long wanted to have, I’ve come to understand what true wealth actually means…

Time freedom.

Having no one tell me where I need to be at a certain time, ever. Spending the morning playing with my son as opposed to rushing to my laptop. 4-day weekends every weekend, not limited to certain sporadic holidays. The option to schedule a doctor’s appointment, massage or flight somewhere on a random weekday. Cooking dinner from a joyful, unrushed state.

And showing up for client calls completely present and relaxed because nothing makes you feel wealthier than time. Time to do, move, and be as you choose.

To be clear, I didn’t design my ideal lifestyle after the money started coming in, I designed it before and then the money came in.

There’s a chance your clients are craving more time freedom in their lives, no matter who they are or what they do. If you can help them have more of it, they’ll be clients for years.

But you need to model it first. Here’s my best strategy for doing that:

Ask yourself the following question: “If I was already making the income I want to make in my business… what would my ideal average day look like?”

Map out your ideal average day from start to finish. Resist the temptation to hold back or tame your desires for what you want. Then slowly start living that as your reality now, one day at a time, until you’re where you want to be. People close to you might not get it, they may even judge it…and secretly admire you from afar.

And know this: the sooner you give yourself the gift of true, unapologetic time freedom, the more of an impact you’ll have on those around you—clients, friends and family included.
